We again have our great teacher’s with some spectacular new classes who will be showing them off Saturday, March 24 from 1-3 pm. Drop by, take a look at some of the offerings and visit with the teacher about the class.  It just amazes us everytime a new ruler, book, pattern, or tool comes out and then we see all the wonderful new fabrics to use and we realize how lucky we are to have all these options! Certainly not like our grandmothers who made do with used clothing scraps!

See what you can do with your Bernina

One of the best things about Bernina is they are always thinking up some great new tool that allows sewers to expand their creativity. I took what could have been a plain messenger bag and did some great embellishing on it using Bernina products. I started with my new favorite, the Cutwork Tool. It is amazing. The software allows you to either use custom or built-in designs. After you have the “cutwork” in your software you send it over to you Bernina Aurora or Artista. You replace the needle with the Cutwork tool, which is essentially a knife. The design loads into the embroidery portion of your machine. Follow the prompts and in no time at all you will have custom appliques cut out for you. After it cut the circle and S out I then put my needle back in and it stitched the edges down for me. It is so much fun to watch. I would NEVER have done applique before this handy tool.  I then used my Designer Plus V6 to create the bubble design. I had so much fun just playing with the placement of the circles. V6 makes digitizing so easy.  The bag is hanging in the store. Feel free to come by and check it out.

This was a Software Sampler class. Software Sampler is a great way to get to know your Bernina Embroidery software. It is a virtual club presented by a Bernina Educator. Included with the class is a cd with all of the presentations, designs and information necessary to do the project. Don’t have software? This is a great way to come and really see what is possible with Bernina Embroidery Software.  If you have any questions or would like to register for the class please call the store at 512-260-4100.
