Can you believe we are on the “downward side” of the year already?  Time just keeps flying by.  We all have many projects in various stages of completion as well as many more stored in our “memory banks”, just waiting for the opportunity to get started.  As usual, we have new fabric arriving weekly and our choices keep changing.  It just doesn’t seem possible that it is time for the Halloween and Holiday fabrics to be here, but here they are.  See what this year’s choices are.

We want to thank all of you who brought quilts for our $5 Quilt Show in May.  It is always fun to see how the same blocks can be “put together” so differently.  Our “Food for Discount” was a huge success!  THANK YOU so much for all the canned goods and non-perishables that were donated to the Hill Country Food Bank.  We turned in over 185 cans, boxes and jars!

This quarter we have many new classes as well as some new teachers with great offerings.  Our Teacher Round-up is this Saturday, June 27^th from 1-4 pm.  Be sure to stop by to see the new samples and meet the teacher’s, ask questions and sign up for these great projects and techniques.  By signing up during the Round-Up, you receive 20% off class supplies or as always, 10% off class supplies any other time.

Now is the time to start signing up for the Houston Quilt Festival Bus Trip.  As before, we will have a Thursday, November  4^th trip as well as a Saturday, November 6^th bus.  This is a great chance to relax, not worry about driving, traffic or parking and let someone else play tour director.  Plenty of time to visit with friends, compare notes on purchases or just nap.  Call or come by the store to register.

July will bring the annual Bernina University, convention where dealers attend, take classes and hear all the latest and greatest from Bernina.  We have a full load of classes for the entire time but we will come back with lots of new ideas and plans for projects, events and more.  The only downer will be Florida in July!  If we think it is humid here, try that.

August will be bringing summer vacation time to an end and we will host a Back to School Fashion Show, not only for the young-ones, but also for moms.  This will be a fun evening with lots of cute garments and back to school projects.

September will bring us into the Fall Shop Hop the 9^th-11^th with extended hours each day.  Grab a group of friends and head out.  Most shops are along the I-35 corridor, so easy on/off.  Lots of fun things to see, great prizes and something new at each shop.  Then September 17-19^th you will want to attend the Austin Area Guild Quilt Show held this year at the Palmer Event Center., a spacious new location that should show off the quilts beautifully.  We will have a booth, so stop by and say hi.
